Street reverberation
In urban street canyons sound bounces up and down between adjacent facades. The openness of the street as well as facade structure determine the amplification of the sound caused by traffic for example. At the Acoustics group of Ghent University we study urban sound propagation using numerical modelleing, scale modelling and field measurements. Fast measurement of reverberation in the streets of Ghent using our specially equipped van is but one of the examples. Read more on the "research topics" page.
