INTEC Acoustics
Research Topics
Our mission statement:
Improving the quality of the living environment by uncovering causal relationships and providing advanced numerical tools for policy support and product development.
Research topics cover the physical, technological, and psychological aspects of the problem and include:
- Outdoor sound propagation and noise mapping
- Noise and odour annoyance prediction
- Computational modelling of perception and appraisal of the environment by synthetic populations
- Environmental impact assessment of mobility plans and industrial projects
- Policy support, action planning, and (urban) soundscaping
Biologically inspired models such as genetic algorithms, swarms, colonies, and computational intelligence are amongst the key methodologies that are employed for handling the complex systems and imprecision involved.
